Description

We are looking to recruit a Control Systems Engineer to assist in the design, programming, testing, commissioning and supporting Siemens and Schneider PC/PLC Control Systems.
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for a combination of new system developments through the full software & engineering lifecycle.
This will include understanding business requirements, designing solutions, testing, and commissioning, together with the maintenance and improvements of existing client control systems.
You will be required to provide support to other team members within the company and must be able to liaise with both customers and external suppliers.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operations
• Development and support of PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipment
• Application and setup of multi axis servo control systems
• Panel design
• Assist customers and/or co-workers with electrical/programming issues
• Assist with specifications for purchase of electrical components
• Provide electrical machine commissioning and/or technical support both on and off-site
• Field installation work requires travel to customer's facilities

Requirements

• "hands on" electrical experience required
• Proficient in industrial machine controls, electrical systems, PLC and HMI programming with a working knowledge of multi axis servo systems
• Able to create CAD drawings for assembly and wiring control panels and instrumentation
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Skill in organization and problem solving
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to the automation field
• Program Siemens and Schneider PLC's and HMI's
• International travel could be required for training

Qualifications and Skills
You are likely to be HNC/HND/degree qualified in either a Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Software Engineering discipline.
Full UK driving licence
